Your key to feeling healthy, energised and free of pain

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a holistic therapy that aims to treat not just the issue but the broader reasons why that issue has occurred. Traditionally a manual therapy involving hands on treatment with soft tissue muscle work, manipulation of joints, stretching and articulation of the body. We also like to incorporate looking at patients entire lifestyles as well as educate on exercises.

Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial osteopathy is a refined form of osteopathy widely used to help babies, but often used for adults as well. It involves very calming, gentle manipulation of the head and spine.

Some Conditions Osteopathy Can Help With

Back & Neck Pain

One of the most common issues for coming to the clinic and often caused by sedentary lifestyles or overuse in a certain way. Often presenting as compressed or inflamed joints, disc bulges, disc herniations, muscle spasms, issues with movement. This can  cause nerve referrals into the legs or arms. The most important part of treating this is diagnosis – to make sure we are giving the correct treatment. If needed, we refer on. But the majority of the time issues respond well with treatment.

Knee & Hip Problems

Ranging from sporting injuries, strength issues to arthritis. We will be looking at how the body works as a whole and what could be impacting and causing pain in these joints.

Expectant Mothers

Pelvic girdle pain, symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD), sacroiliac joint pain and lower back pain are the most commonly seen problems throughout a  pregnancy – and can be treated through to the full term to keep patients feeling more comfortable and more prepared for when the baby comes!

Shoulder & Elbow Injuries

Repetitive strain and tennis/golfers elbow are the most commonly seen elbow injuries. With impingements, adhesive capsulitis and rotator cuff problems in the shoulders are the more serious complaints, we often see pain around the shoulder blade and back of the shoulder as  a result of office work. Advice and exercises are really important here to improve things quickly, with hands-on work speeding things up.

Cranial for Babies

A very gentle treatment that can be helpful for digestive problems, wind and issues with rolling and movement in babies. It is often used after a particularly stressful labour. Cranial can also be helpful for young children with anxiety issues.

Headaches

One of the more complicated issues due to the many number of reasons for them. Many are  cervicogenic (starting from issues in the neck) or tension related. This can respond really well to hands-on treatment. We will often take your blood pressure if you come in with a headache as this can be a major cause. You will be asked a lot of questions to screen for  any ‘red flags’ before treatment.
Sometimes headaches can be a result of inflammation, poor movement in your joints, or muscular tension – again very treatable. If we needed to we would refer you to your Dr for more tests.

Arthritic Pain

Whilst we cannot change the bony deformities caused by arthritis we can often make things significantly more comfortable by treating the tight muscles caused by the poor joint range of movement – this can make the pain significantly more comfortable, however can be a case of coming for treatment every 4 – 6 weeks as the pain is likely to build up again – essentially we are ‘managing’ things. We’re quite likely to give you some simple exercises to try to help keep you going for as long as possible in between treatments.

Jaw (TMJ) Dysfunction

With the rise of stress related issues sees the rise in discomfort around the face and jaw. Normally due to clenching the teeth or holding the jaw in a tense fashion. The muscles of the face are incredibly strong and can therefore end up causing an imbalance when they become tight. This can present as a clicky jaw, but also constant tension in the area. We work a lot with this and sometimes we  may ask if we can do some massage within the mouth, with gloves on. This can be very effective.

Stress Related Pain

A complex range of issues depending on HOW stressed you are and how LONG you’ve felt like for. From regular muscle tightness to a deregulated nervous system we are really proud to offer not just hands on work for the musculoskeletal system but also on ‘bio-hacking’ the nervous system (in particular the vagus nerve) to calm it down and teach you some techniques to help yourself.
Some  people are now booking in just for a session working on the nervous system and breathing which is a really nice session that’ll hopefully leave you feeling much calmer, in tern having a positive effect on the body and the mind.

Our Satisfied Clients

"Friendly and professional and most of all...effective! I had a really comprehensive assessment with Francesca who helped with a range of postpartum pelvis and back issues. I was given a variety of different exercises to do at home and after just a couple of weeks I've noticed a huge improvement. Thanks Francesca and Anna."

Lucy I, Woking

"I was seen by Anna initially because I had hurt my neck so badly that I was unable to pick up my baby from the floor. In tears on the phone she managed to get me an appointment that day, and she worked her magic, I could move my neck on the way out and the next day the pain had gone. Since then I have seen her regularly (my choice) as she is so fantastic. Very professional, gentle and lovely. Thank you so much!"

Daisy D, Weybridge

"I have been seeing Francesca for a few years now, initially for severe back pain which she was able to identify the source of and alleviate really quickly. Now I see her on a fairly regular basis (my choice), so that she can make sure problems aren't reoccurring and also deal with any new aches and pains I inevitably pick up along the way. I feel she has an intuitive instinct backed by her advanced qualifications and regularly recommend her to others."

Anna E, Woodham

"Anna is a delightful and competent professional who gives first rate, comprehensive treatment at every visit. I went in as a “wonky donkey” and walked out feeling six foot tall with a normal gait in my first visit! I have given her practice details out to many of my friends. Also, her new treatment rooms are a relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle - an excellent place for monthly maintenance."

Julia W, Pyrford

"Anna has been brilliant, not only helping me getting rid of my neck pain, but also teaching me how to keep my body strong and healthy. Very professional, yet friendly, and explains everything she does. Would highly recommend."

Lucia M

"Despite a busy practice, Anna rescued me when I was in agony and unable to move, let alone get out of bed. She quickly got me up on my feet and gave me exercises to keep me mobile until the next visit. I cannot fault her. She’s not just a fantastic practitioner but a lovely person as well. She always puts others before herself. In fact she's so highly respected that she doesn't need to scrape around for work and genuinely only treats you when you need it. She is a most professional person and comes very highly recommend from me."
