At Key Osteopaths, we provide personalised osteopathic treatment for patients travelling from Weybridge to our clinic in West Byfleet, Surrey. Our team works with a broad range of musculoskeletal problems, including back pain, neck pain, sciatica, joint stiffness, headaches, sports injuries, postural strain and work-related discomfort.
Alongside general osteopathy, the clinic offers specialist care for TMJ dysfunction, jaw pain, cranial concerns, orofacial myofunctional disorders, baby feeding difficulties, tongue-tie, hypermobility-related concerns and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
Patients from Weybridge often choose Key Osteopaths because the clinic offers both everyday osteopathic care and more specialist support in one setting. Some patients attend with back, neck or joint pain. Others are looking for help with jaw function, tongue posture, myofunctional therapy, baby feeding, cranial tension, tongue-tie or complex overlapping symptoms.
Pain and restricted movement are rarely influenced by one factor alone. Previous injury, posture, occupation, exercise, general health and the way different areas of the body work together may all be relevant. Our role is to understand what may be contributing to your symptoms and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Osteopathic treatment begins with understanding the person rather than concentrating only on the area that hurts. Two patients may describe similar symptoms, yet the reasons those symptoms developed and the effect they have on daily life can be very different.
Our team will consider how your symptoms began, how they have changed and which movements, positions or activities make them better or worse. We may also look at joint mobility, muscle tension, previous injuries, repetitive strain and the physical demands of your work, sport and everyday routine.
Your first appointment begins with a detailed discussion of your symptoms and relevant medical history. Depending on the problem, we may assess posture, spinal movement, joint mobility, muscle tension, strength, flexibility and the relationship between different areas of the body.
Treatment may combine soft-tissue techniques, joint mobilisation, articulation, stretching and other hands-on osteopathic methods. Where useful, this can be supported by targeted exercises, mobility work and practical advice relating to work, exercise or everyday movement.
We will explain our findings clearly and outline the approach we consider most appropriate.
We adapt our approach to the age, health and individual needs of every patient.
Adults commonly visit us with problems linked to desk work, prolonged driving, manual occupations, repetitive strain, sport and exercise. Older patients may require a gentler approach that takes account of joint health, osteoarthritis, mobility and relevant medical history.
Our work with children and babies is similarly tailored, using gentle, age-appropriate assessment and treatment. The clinic also provides specialist support for cranial concerns, baby feeding difficulties, tongue-tie and jaw function.
General osteopathy focuses on the way muscles, joints and surrounding tissues contribute to movement, comfort and physical function.
Patients from Weybridge may attend with a recent injury, a recurring problem or pain that has developed gradually over time. Rather than treating a diagnosis in isolation, we consider how the affected area relates to the rest of the body and how the symptoms influence work, sleep, exercise and everyday activity.
Back pain and neck pain are among the most common reasons patients visit an osteopath.
Symptoms may include lower back pain, upper back pain, muscular spasm, stiffness after sitting, pain between the shoulder blades or reduced movement when turning the head. Prolonged desk work, repetitive lifting, driving, previous injury and sudden changes in activity may all be relevant.
Sciatica can cause pain, tingling, numbness or altered sensation extending from the lower back or buttock into the leg. As similar symptoms can arise for different reasons, our assessment considers the lower back, pelvis, hips, muscles and related neural structures before treatment is planned.
We assess problems affecting the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, including shoulder pain, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff-related pain, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, hip pain, knee pain, osteoarthritic joint pain and reduced mobility.
The painful area does not always tell the whole story. Shoulder movement, for example, can be influenced by the neck, upper back and shoulder blade, while knee symptoms may be affected by the way the hip, foot and ankle are functioning.
Treatment may therefore consider both the local area of pain and the wider movement pattern that may be contributing to the problem.
Some patients attend because of symptoms involving the head, neck or balance system. These may include cervicogenic headaches, migraines, tension around the base of the skull, dizziness or episodes of positional vertigo.
Where symptoms appear to be linked to neck tension, jaw function or musculoskeletal strain, osteopathic assessment may help identify contributing factors. For patients with symptoms consistent with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, we also offer BPPV assessment and treatment, including recognised repositioning techniques where appropriate.
Postural strain is often less about finding one perfect position and more about the effect of remaining in the same position for too long. Treatment may address both the immediate restriction and the movement habits or physical demands that continue to aggravate it.
I have seen Anna regularly for a few years and every time I leave the practice I feel relaxed, straighter and pain free. Typically carrying stress in my back, Anna not only treats the area of pain, but has a holistic approach, and gives advice on exercises, stretches, and breathing techniques to take away. She knows just what you need: a specific adjustment after massage to release tension, to a ‘maintenance session’ and five minute relax at the end. Anna has treated the whole family with various injuries and growing pains and I can not recommend her enough!
Myself, my husband, my son and my daughter have all seen Anna over the past few years for either neck, back, knee, shoulder or elbow problems. She has always managed to help with whatever issue we’ve had, she is very professional but also has a very friendly, caring and lovely manner. we would all highly recommend her.
I have been seeing Francesca for a few years now, initially for severe back pain which she was able to identify the source of and alleviate really quickly. Now I see her on a fairly regular basis (my choice), so that she can make sure problems aren’t reoccurring and also deal with any new aches and pains I inevitably pick up along the way. I feel she has an intuitive instinct backed by her advanced qualifications and regularly recommend her to others.
I’ve been seeing Anna for a couple of years, most recently i’ve had problems in my upper back. Anna has given mobilisation and massage that have made a huge difference. She also sent me away with exercises to improve my muscle strength and posture. The practice is lovely modern facility, clean and bright and the atmosphere is very relaxing. There is no pressure to have extra appointments and I will happily return if and when I get another issue.
I can not recommend Anna more…..she has totally helped me sort my lower back after a slipped disc. I now see her regularly just to prevent any further issues with my back. She has worked magic! I have recommended her to many friends and family who have equally been really pleased with her.
Fantastic service! Anna has worked her magic when I’ve been in real pain. She’s professional, honest and is always smiling – I couldn’t recommend more highly !
My wife and I – plus my two grown-up daughters – have all seen Anna at one point or another over the last two/three years. She is absolutely fantastic. What you get is what you need – reassurance, matter-of-fact advice and most importantly – pain relief. Anna also gives you some simple stretches and exercises that help mitigate any future problems. Before meeting Anna I had seen a number of other osteos and she is the best by a mile. Highly recommended.
After years of visiting chiropractors, I have decided to try osteopath services. Anna is very skilled and knowledgeable as well as warm and friendly. Each session improved my condition and I always left feeling pain-free. I would highly recommend Anna’s services.
Despite a busy practice, Anna rescued me when I was in agony and unable to move, let alone get out of bed. She quickly got me up on my feet and gave me exercises to keep me mobile until the next visit. I cannot fault her. She’s not just a fantastic practitioner but a lovely person as well. She always puts others before herself. In fact she’s so highly respected that she doesn’t need to scrape around for work and genuinely only treats you when you need it. She is a most professional person and comes very highly recommend from me.
Problems involving the jaw rarely affect the temporomandibular joint alone. Jaw movement depends on the coordinated function of the muscles of the face, mouth and neck, as well as the relationship between the jaw, tongue, teeth and upper cervical spine.
Patients from Weybridge may choose Key Osteopaths for TMJ and jaw pain treatment when symptoms have not settled with basic advice, when jaw pain is linked with headaches or neck tension, or when they need support alongside dental or orthodontic care.
Our assessment considers how the jaw opens and closes, the quality of movement through both temporomandibular joints, muscle tension, tongue posture and mobility through the neck and upper back.
The temporomandibular joints connect the lower jaw to the skull and allow the jaw to open, close and move from side to side.
When the joints, muscles or surrounding structures are not functioning comfortably, patients may experience jaw pain, clicking, grinding, locking or difficulty opening the mouth fully. Some notice pain in front of the ear, while others experience aching through the cheek, temple, jawline or neck.
Jaw clenching and teeth grinding, known clinically as bruxism, can place sustained pressure on the jaw joints, teeth and surrounding muscles. Symptoms may include morning jaw stiffness, facial aching, tooth sensitivity, headaches or fatigue when chewing.
Treatment may include gentle joint techniques, soft-tissue work, intra-oral treatment and exercises designed to improve movement and reduce unnecessary strain.
Jaw function can influence symptoms beyond the jaw itself. Some patients notice facial tension, headaches, ear fullness, tinnitus-type symptoms or discomfort through the neck and shoulders.
We assess tension through the jaw, temples, face and neck, together with breathing habits, tongue position and jaw movement. Treatment may then be supported by practical strategies intended to reduce overactivity and encourage more relaxed jaw function.
Jaw function can also be influenced by dental treatment, orthodontic changes, occlusion, tongue mobility and procedures involving the lingual frenulum. Some patients seek treatment while adapting to braces, aligners, dental appliances or changes in the way their teeth meet, while others attend before or after frenectomy procedures.
Where appropriate, we work alongside dentists, orthodontists, ENT consultants, speech and language therapists and other professionals involved in the patient’s care.
Orofacial myofunctional therapy focuses on the muscles of the face, mouth and tongue and the way they contribute to breathing, chewing, swallowing, speech and resting posture.
Tongue position, lip seal, nasal breathing, jaw movement and oral muscle coordination can all influence how efficiently the mouth and upper airway function. Our approach combines myofunctional assessment with osteopathic care where appropriate.
For patients from Weybridge, this can be relevant where jaw symptoms, mouth breathing, tongue-tie, orthodontic relapse, snoring, swallowing concerns or persistent oral habits are part of the wider picture.
At rest, the tongue should usually sit against the roof of the mouth, the lips should close comfortably and breathing should take place through the nose where possible.
A low resting tongue posture, poor lip seal or habitual mouth breathing can affect oral function and may contribute to tension through the jaw, face and neck.
Our assessment considers how the tongue moves, where it rests and how the muscles involved in breathing and swallowing are working together. Treatment may include targeted exercises to improve tongue strength, lip control, oral coordination and resting posture.
Chewing and swallowing require coordinated movement of the tongue, lips, jaw and throat. When one part of this system is not functioning effectively, eating may become slower, less comfortable or more effortful.
Patients may notice jaw fatigue, difficulty managing certain textures, food remaining in the cheeks, coughing during meals or the need to use water to assist swallowing. Where this is relevant, we may recommend support through chewing and swallowing treatment.
Myofunctional therapy can also form part of a wider approach to mouth breathing, snoring and airway-related concerns. For some patients, this may overlap with snoring and sleep apnoea treatment. Where more complex swallowing or sleep-related problems are present, we may work alongside speech and language therapists, dentists, orthodontists, ENT consultants or sleep specialists.
Orofacial myofunctional disorders can affect both children and adults.
Children may be referred because of mouth breathing, tongue-thrust swallowing, prolonged oral habits, open bite, dental alignment concerns or difficulty establishing an appropriate resting tongue position. For younger patients, children’s orofacial myofunctional therapy is adapted to their age, development and ability to complete exercises consistently.
Adults may seek support for jaw tension, snoring, tongue-tie, orthodontic changes or persistent patterns of oral muscle dysfunction. Where a restrictive tongue-tie is part of the picture, our work with tongue-tie in children and adults considers tongue mobility, oral posture, swallowing, jaw function and wider compensation patterns.
Anna takes a holistic and long term approach with my treatment. She often adapts treatment and exercises and is reassuringly confident yet gentle! I have had lots of practitioners over the years but have been seeing Anna for by far the longest because of this and the consistently best results.
Anna is brilliant – she really listens and then treats any issue so well I walk out feeling completely different. She thinks about things between visits so always moves things forward and has different sets of exercises to perfect after each visit, which I love. This speeds recovery and aids long term maintenance. Anna always goes the extra mile after each appointment, she’s a life saver. Needless to say she’s v popular but I’ve always managed to get to see her when I need to, she tries to giggle things to fit people in. Her lovely practise has such a calm air about it, lovely lighting feels so relaxing. Thank you Anna for fixing me!
Anna is a delightful and competent professional who gives first rate, comprehensive treatment at every visit. I went in as a “wonky donkey” and walked out feeling six foot tall with a normal gait in my first visit! I have given her practice details out to many of my friends. Also, her new treatment rooms are a relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle – an excellent place for monthly maintenance.

Anna came highly recommended to me by a friend so I decided to go and see her about a muscle issue in my left arm. Anna was fantastic, she asked all the right questions and gave all the right advice, after treatment I had the best arm workout I’d had in over 5 months with no pain in the morning that I usually would have suffered from. I should have gone to see her sooner ! I’m so happy and grateful for the treatment I have received. A big thank you from me and my left arm ! thanks Anna !!
Anna is a brilliant osteopath she has helped me with varioys limitations and helped improve my quality of life
Anna came highly recommended and I have not been disappointed. My back and hip problem have been resolved in a mere two very good sessions. Anna knows what she’s doing and has a very good way of comforting and putting you at ease. Will be returning for regular sessions. Highly recommend!

I have been seeing Anna for a few years now after struggling with migraines. She has not only helped me immensely but was the first person I’d seen to get to the root of the problem. Along with being a brilliant therapist, her advice and aftercare is invaluable. I can’t recommend the clinic highly enough
Cranial osteopathy uses gentle techniques to assess and treat areas of tension and restricted movement throughout the body.
Although the name refers to the cranium, the approach is not limited to the head. Cranial osteopaths consider the relationship between the skull, spine, pelvis, muscles and surrounding tissues, adapting treatment according to the age, comfort and needs of each patient.
Patients from Weybridge may choose cranial osteopathy when they prefer a lighter style of treatment, when symptoms are associated with headaches or jaw tension, or when seeking gentle osteopathic care for a baby or child.
Cranial treatment is characterised by light contact and subtle techniques rather than forceful manipulation.
Adults may choose this approach where symptoms are associated with headaches, jaw discomfort, muscular tension, stress-related holding patterns or sensitivity to stronger forms of manual treatment.
Cranial techniques may be used alone or combined with other osteopathic methods, depending on the findings from the assessment.
Baby cranial osteopathy uses a gentle, age-appropriate approach that takes account of birth history, movement, development and the reason for the appointment.
The assessment may include observation of head position, neck movement, spinal mobility, jaw function and general symmetry. We may also consider whether areas of musculoskeletal tension are influencing comfort during feeding, turning the head or settling into different positions.
Parents remain present throughout the appointment, and we explain what we are assessing and why.
Feeding depends on the coordinated movement of the baby’s tongue, lips, jaw, neck and body. When one part of this system is not working efficiently, feeding may become tiring, uncomfortable or difficult to sustain.
We take a functional approach to baby feeding and tongue-tie assessment, looking beyond the appearance of the tongue alone and considering latch, tongue movement, jaw opening, head position, neck mobility and the coordination of sucking, swallowing and breathing.
Parents from Weybridge may attend because feeding has become painful, inefficient, unsettled or confusing, or because they have been advised to explore whether tongue function may be contributing.
Parents may notice a shallow latch, clicking sounds, milk leaking from the mouth, frequent loss of suction, prolonged feeds or a baby who repeatedly pulls away.
Our assessment considers how the baby approaches the breast or bottle, how the tongue and jaw move and whether head preference, neck restriction or musculoskeletal tension may be influencing feeding.
Where tongue-tie is suspected, we assess function rather than appearance alone. This includes tongue lift, extension, lateral movement, suction, lip seal and coordination with the jaw. Further support may be appropriate through tongue-tie assessment and osteopathic support for babies or baby feeding difficulties and latch support.
Reflux, excessive wind and feeding discomfort can have several possible causes and do not automatically indicate tongue-tie.
Some babies swallow additional air because they struggle to maintain suction or repeatedly lose their latch. Others may appear uncomfortable in certain feeding positions, arch away from the breast or bottle or become unsettled during and after feeds. Where relevant, we may assess whether feeding mechanics, tongue movement, jaw function, neck mobility or physical tension are contributing to reflux, wind and feeding discomfort.
Where tongue-tie release has been recommended, osteopathic and myofunctional support may help address wider patterns that have developed around restricted tongue movement. Before and after release, treatment may support comfort, mobility and the transition towards a more effective feeding pattern. We also provide osteopathic support after tongue-tie release where this forms part of the baby’s wider care.
We may work alongside lactation consultants, feeding specialists, dentists, surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.

Iv been to see Anna on a number of occasions with a degenerative disc in my lower back. Before having an MRI scan to confirm the issue, Anna knew exactly what was wrong and spent a few sessions helping me regain some movement as it was so locked. I now go and see her every few weeks for maintenance. Anna is fabulous at what she does and I’m so glad I found her! I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!

Some patients attend Key Osteopaths because their symptoms do not fit neatly into one simple category. Pain, instability, jaw tension, fatigue, headaches, neck discomfort, swallowing issues or recurring injuries may all overlap.
For patients with hypermobility, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, treatment often needs to be carefully adapted. The aim is to support comfort, control, function and stability without overloading already sensitive joints.

For patients with hypermobility, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, treatment often needs to be carefully adapted. The aim is to support comfort, control, function and stability without overloading already sensitive joints.
Our approach to EDS and hypermobility treatment considers joint sensitivity, soft-tissue strain, postural demand, fatigue and the way the body compensates when certain areas feel unstable.
Some hypermobile patients also experience symptoms involving the jaw, neck, swallowing, tongue posture or upper cervical area. Where relevant, our osteopathic and myofunctional work may support cases where EDS, jaw pain, swallowing difficulties and neck instability overlap.
Treatment is adapted to the individual and may involve gentle hands-on care, specific exercise advice and practical strategies for managing daily physical demands.
I was seen by Anna initially because I had hurt my neck so badly that I was unable to pick up my baby from the floor. In tears on the phone she managed to get me an appointment that day, and she worked her magic, I could move my neck on the way out and the next day the pain had gone. Since then I have seen her regularly (my choice) as she is so fantastic. Very professional, gentle and lovely. Thank you so much!

Love Anna, she is really good. Helped me out with mobility issues, muscle and tension release post training. Also now that I’m expecting my baby she’s been fantastic, helping with some discomfort I started having during my third trimestre… 100% recommended!
Anna is highly knowledgeable and identifies the source of any pain quickly. She then works with you to resolve any issues and doesn’t rely on session after session but instead provides support activities to shorten recovery times. Highly recommended

Friendly and professional and most of all…effective! I had a really comprehensive assessment with Francesca who helped with a range of postpartum pelvis and back issues. I was given a variety of different exercises to do at home and after just a couple of weeks I’ve noticed a huge improvement. Thanks Francesca and Anna.

We do not require patients to purchase prepaid treatment packages.
Recommendations are based on your assessment, response to treatment and progress. Some patients need only a small number of appointments. Others benefit from a more structured plan, particularly where symptoms are long-standing, involve several areas of the body or require exercise-based support.

I have seen Anna twice with a slipped disc in my lower back. On both occasions she has turned me from Yoda (hunched over a walking stick) to an upright human. She gave me massage and acupuncture which greatly helped with getting myself back to normal. Ongoing exercise and the reason behind it has greatly improved my posture. I cannot recommend her enough.
